At HUGAR WildCode, we design offline-first mission-critical tools for forest officers. We believe your operational field data is confidential and belongs strictly to you.

All duty diary entries, patrol notes, AR measurements, KML boundary maps, GPS photos, and log volumes are stored solely on your physical Android device.

1. Overview & Our Core Philosophy

HUGAR WildCode develops high-performance Android field tools designed specifically for Karnataka Forest Department officers, surveyors, researchers, and field personnel.

Because forest operations often occur in deep wilderness with zero cellular coverage and involve sensitive patrol logs and geographic boundaries, all HUGAR WildCode applications are engineered as offline-first, standalone local applications.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect (Field Data)

We strictly do not collect, view, transmit, or retain any data you create inside our mobile applications, including:

  • Forester Diary (v3.1.0): Daily duty logs, incident reports, beat inspection notes, attached field photos, and generated PDF summaries.
  • AR-TreeMeasure (v2.1.8): AR point clouds, tree heights, GBH (girth) measurements, volume estimations, and CSV records.
  • ForMap - GIS (v2.6.0): Drawn boundary polygons, patrol path tracks, waypoint coordinates, imported/exported KML, GeoJSON, and Shapefiles.
  • Forest Law Assistant (v3.1): Bookmarked legal sections, offense notes, and search queries.
  • GeoCam (v1.1.0): Watermarked camera photos, embedded GPS coordinates, compass bearings, elevation tags, and album folders.
  • Smart Sawmill (v1.1.0): Round log dimensions, sawn timber outturn calculations, species selections, and commercial batches.

All of the above data resides securely within your device's sandboxed local application storage (or your device's external storage when you explicitly trigger an export).

3. Information We Collect (Account & Licensing Only)

To provide free access, prevent unauthorized redistribution, and verify your license status, we only process minimal authentication information:

  • Email Address & User ID: Provided when you sign in on our web portal via Google Sign-In or Email Magic Link. This is stored securely in our database (powered by Supabase) solely to generate your officer license token.
  • License Status: Whether your account holds an active license for our applications.

When you enter your registered Email ID on an app's opening screen, the app performs a lightweight one-time verification over HTTPS to activate your license. No field data is shared during this check.

4. Android Device Permissions & How They Are Used

Our applications may request specific device permissions strictly to deliver core offline functionality. None of these permissions are used to transmit background telemetry:

  • Camera Required for AR-TreeMeasure and GeoCam: Used exclusively for real-time augmented reality surface detection and capturing field photos. Camera frames are processed entirely on-device and never streamed over the network.
  • Location (GPS) Required for ForMap - GIS, AR-TreeMeasure, and GeoCam: Used solely to determine your current GPS coordinates for mapping patrol tracks, calculating polygon acreage, and stamping coordinates onto photos. GPS data is stored only in your local files.
  • Storage / Files Required for all apps: Used solely to allow you to export generated PDF reports, CSV spreadsheets, KML maps, and photo albums to your device's Download/Document folders, or to import existing GIS maps.

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, monetize, trade, or share your personal information or field records with any third party, government agency, advertiser, or corporate entity.

We use only essential infrastructure providers:

  • Supabase: For secure authentication and license token validation (ISO 27001 / SOC2 compliant).
  • Google Drive / Cloud Storage: Strictly for hosting public APK installer downloads.

6. Data Ownership, Backups & Deletion

Because your data is stored locally on your phone, you maintain 100% total ownership and control over your data at all times:

  • Exporting Data: You can export your reports (PDF), logs (CSV), maps (KML), and photos anytime directly to your phone storage, Google Drive, or email.
  • Deleting Data: You can permanently erase all stored data anytime by going to Android Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Clear Storage / Clear Data, or by uninstalling the application.
⚠️ Important Reminder on App Updates:
When updating an APK to a new release, please always use the built-in Export / Backup function in each app (exporting your PDFs, CSVs, or KMLs) before uninstalling or performing a clean install to prevent accidental local data loss.

7. Security Standards

We implement industry-standard security protocols:

  • All communications between our portal and license verification service use encrypted TLS 1.3 / HTTPS connections.
  • Local app databases are protected by Android's application sandboxing architecture, preventing other apps from accessing your private field records.
